Edward Macfarlane, Managing Director at Cordant Security

Cordant Security, has been chosen to provide security and guest liaison services for the Retail Fraud – Leicester conference and the Fraud Awards 2015, the “Oscars” of the LP industry.

Founder of Retail Knowledge – owners of the global Retail Fraud conference series – Paul Bessant commented “We are delighted to have concluded an agreement with Cordant Services to take care of the security of this year’s Retail Fraud – Leicester conference as well as the Fraud Awards later the same day.

I am sure that their professionalism and attention to detail will provide the high level of security our “who’s who” guest list deserves and is in keeping with the desire of our sponsors, WIS International, to provide all those lucky enough to have tickets with a truly outstanding evening, celebrating the best of risk and loss prevention.”

Formerly known as Advance Security, Cordant Security is the UK’s eighth largest security provider and employs over 4,700 staff, managing 2,500 sites for 300 customers. The business, established some 55 years ago, has a particularly strong presence in the retail and supply chain sectors.

Edward Macfarlane, Managing Director of Cordant Security said, “Having started my commercial career as a retail store manager I am passionate about this industry and therefore delighted to be playing such an important role in this key event.

“As one of the leading players in the sector Cordant Security is ideally placed to be a partner for the Retail Fraud Conference and Awards where we can showcase our expertise and ensure the events are safe and secure.”

Interest in this year’s Fraud Awards has been stronger than ever, with key areas “battlegrounds” being the awards for Vendor of the Year and Rising Star of the Year.

Last year The Loss Prevention Director of the Year Award went to Ray Palmer, formerly of B&Q. This year the category is more hotly contested than ever, with no less than eight leading LP executives being shortlisted.

The results will be revealed at a black tie dinner on the 8th October 2015 at Leicester City Football Club.
