The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) today announced that a URS-led team, of which ISS Facility Services, Defence is one of 3 Strategic Subcontractors, has been awarded one of four indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts to provide management advisory services to NATO. The contract has a six-year performance period.

Under the contract, ISS, along with URS and the other 2 strategic sub contractors – Capita Symonds and Grant Thornton, will compete for future task orders to support of NATO’s transition to its new headquarters facility in Brussels, as well as other current and future organisational change and improvement initiatives. Specific task orders could include the design of soft facility management services and in particular catering, retail and welfare services, operational office support, logistics consulting, infrastructure and management consulting, business process design and management, program and project management support, and human capital management consulting. In addition, the contract is also usable by all NATO Commands to support current and ongoing NATO missions globally.

Commenting on the award, Simon Cox, COO, ISS Facility Services, Defence said: “We look forward to beginning to work with NATO (a new client for ISS), URS, the team leader, and the other strategic subcontractors to support NATO’s transition to the new headquarters and ongoing initiatives to enhance organizational flexibility, the working environment and efficiency.”

Richard Sykes, CEO, ISS UK, added: “This award, which is a new venture for ISS and builds on the recent successes of our Defence business, further demonstrates the value of ISS’ strategic business mix, particularly as global public and private sector organisations seek partners with the scale and comprehensive service offering to meet increasingly complex service support. We are delighted to be working with prestigious companies such as URS, Capita and Grant Thornton for together we can cover all of NATO’s requirements for consulting and operational support.”
