MITIE awarded Gatwick Airport’s ‘Supplier of the Year Award 2013’

MITIE, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, has been awarded Gatwick Airport’s 2013 ‘Supplier of the Year’ award.

MITIE has been providing technical facilities management services for the airport since 2010 including fabric maintenance, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning services.

MITIE was recognised as the number one supplier from a total of 60 contractors providing engineering and construction services. Top marks were awarded for health & safety, quality and value of service, innovation and partnership.

Liz Townsend, Head of Procurement for Gatwick Airport, said:

“Each year Gatwick holds a benchmarking review across the 60 suppliers that make up approximately 80% of our spend. MITIE excelled in all four categories we hold as important to achieve our ambition of being London’s airport of choice.

“We’re delighted by MITIE’s efforts, showing good partnership, excellent work ethic and proactivity, and demonstrating that they understand what Gatwick needs in order to be successful.”

Peter Mosley, managing director of MITIE’s Technical Facilities Management business, said:

“I’m delighted that we’ve been recognised by Gatwick Airport for our on-going successful partnership. The dedication and commitment to continuous improvement that our people have shown is integral to this success. They are a fantastic example of the values we instil across all of our contracts.”
