MITIE extends security partnership with Citi

MITIE, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcer, has extended its security contract with Citi, the global bank, for the second time to secure its UK and Ireland property portfolio.

The three year contract was awarded to MITIE’s Total Security Management business following its initial win in 2009 through a competitive tender process.

MITIE was awarded the contract in part due to its strategic partnership with Global Aware International, a provider of security and intelligent software solutions.

Global Aware’s GIIRP Merlin software will enable Citi to integrate its corporate arrangements, procedures and records into a single highly effective, streamlined, and auditable bespoke system across Europe.

The system also has the added benefit of Travaware which assists its corporate travellers globally.

This system, combined with MITIE’s highly trained security personnel and established security partnership with Citi, will see them providing front of house security, meet and greet services and tenant liaison services to the bank.

Bob Forsyth, managing director at MITIE’s Total Security Management business commented:

“I am delighted to have extended our relationship with Citi for another three years and it’s really exciting to see the services our people deliver being enhanced by technology through the GIIRP Merlin software. It’s fantastic to work with like-minded clients who are embracing the manpower and technology combination, and seeing security provision evolving.”

Citi has had a presence in the United Kingdom since 1902 and has become a leading pan-European investment bank.

Its UK consumer business provides some 4 million customers with a wide range of banking, savings and investments, personal loans, insurance and credit card services so the security and continuity of its operation is paramount to delivering the best outcomes for its clients and customers.

In Ireland, Citi was one of the first foreign banks to open an office and is the largest employer in the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin and the largest foreign bank in Ireland by employee number.

MITIE’s TSM business is one of the UK’s leading security companies providing integrated and risk-based security services.
