New MITIE business makes for more efficient and sustainable buildings

MITIE, the strategic outsourcing and energy services company has launched a new business called Built Environment.

Following research within the industry, MITIE have recognised the strategic opportunity to provide a combined mechanical & electrical and interior fit out service. Coupled with its complimentary Group offerings of technical and soft Facilities Management, MITIE provides advice and accountability around the customer’s need to comply with energy legislation.

Making buildings work more efficiently and reducing their carbon footprint is core to this new offer. This integrated service will provide clients with a fully integrated consult and build solution giving them assurance of costs, programme and operational certainty.

Danny Leonard, managing director of the new Built Environment said: “Working as we do in the refurbishment and fit out sector, it has become very clear that more transparency and communication in the process can lead to financial and programme benefits for our clients.

Early involvement of MITIE’s combined expertise can lead to buildings that work more efficiently and are more sustainable. Retrofitting older buildings to make them low carbon and more energy efficient is one of our core skills.” MITIE will continue to offer a standalone Interior fit out and Mechanical and Electrical engineering services.
