OCS contract at the NEC Group extended to 2022

OCS, the international total facilities management, has had their contract at the NEC Group extended to 2022. OCS delivered the major soft services facilities management across all of the NEC Group’s venues since 1st July, 2012. These services include security and event stewarding, traffic and car park management, portering, cleaning, waste management and helpdesk services.

Last year, the NEC Group ownership was transferred from Birmingham City Council to LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Bank Group, providing the opportunity to review and add value to the contract. As a result, OCS has been awarded a contract extension to June 2022 with additional services, including a postal service for the NEC’s city centre venues.

Riach Ryder, the NEC Group Operations Director commented: “The need to establish strong, mutually beneficial relationships with strategic partners like OCS is essential for the NEC Group. The longer our relationship lasts, the better for all parties including our customers, who are at the heart of everything we do. The advantages we have experienced across our NEC Group venues include improved performance, greater cost efficiency and help in growing our own business.”

Jane Sheard – CEO of OCS UK Facilities Services

Jane Sheard, CEO of OCS UK facilities services, said: “The NEC Group was looking for a true partner from day one of the contract. We are delighted to continue, not only providing great service standards and added value through innovation, but also to support the client’s values of the highest standards of communication and customer service excellence.”

When OCS began working with the NEC Group, the business committed to supporting the Group’s aspirations through 130 innovations over five years. Since then, it has introduced chemical-free cleaning and has driven sustainable operations. In September 2012, the NEC venue announced that it had reached its zero to landfill target two years ahead of schedule, supported by OCS’s waste management services.

The NEC Group encompasses five venues: the NEC itself, the Genting Arena, the International Convention Centre (ICC), the Barclaycard Arena and the VOX Conference Centre – which, between them, welcome over four million visitors per year.
