Securitas has announced the appointment of a new Head of Operations for its Specialist Services Division.

Chris Jones brings 25 years’ transport management experience to the security firm with specific focus on the aviation sector for the last 12 years.

Chris joins Securitas from his previous role of Head of Security for London Luton Airport, a position he held for three years, during which time he instigated change that saw the airport’s standing with the regulator, and its customer, increase significantly.

Chris will be responsible for the retention and growth of the specialist services sector which includes aviation security and fire solutions, aviation training academy, maritime and commercial fire solutions and Police support services.

Angus Wilson, Specialist Services Director at Securitas said: “Chris will be a valuable addition to the company in what is becoming a very exciting growth period. He has clearly demonstrated the capacity to significantly impact the profitability of a business through experienced leadership and direction in a wide range of disciplines. We’re extremely pleased to welcome him to the team.”

Chris will manage the day-to-day issues impacting on specialist services contracts and provide the central point of contact required for strategic communications, service delivery developments, and performance measurement and centralised reporting.

He said: “I was excited by the potential for growth within Securitas, especially with its specialised services business and I believe that by focusing in these areas, it is set to become one of the main providers of business and support solutions within the competitive transport sectors.”

Chris lives in Manchester with his wife and two boys, supports Manchester City and enjoys taking his West Highland White Terrier for long walks.
