Servest named as finalist in Security Excellence Awards

Facilities management provider Servest Group has been announced as a finalist in this year’s Security Excellence Awards. The company is shortlisted in the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative category.

Now in their fifteenth year, the Security Excellence Awards are considered to be the industry Oscars, highlighting the best people, projects and processes the UK’s security sector has to offer.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative award is presented to an organisation that has clearly defined, embraced, initiated, actively promoted and sustained a CSR strategy in 2012-2013. Servest has been shortlisted for its environmental, community and people initiatives. These included introducing eco-friendly patrol vehicles which reduced carbon emissions by 43 per cent; recruiting locally to reduce officer travel time; reducing paper consumption by 76 per cent through digital client and personnel filing; developing working relationships with several Back to Work partners and local charities; insisting on paying London Living Wage as a minimum; and investing in bespoke training plans and apprenticeships.

The winners of the 18 categories will be announced at a gala awards ceremony on 23 October 2013 in London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel.

Servest is no stranger to industry awards. Earlier this year the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awarded Servest the Silver award in recognition of its approach to occupational safety and health. And Servest is also a finalist in the Service Provider of the Year category in the British Institute of Facilities Management Awards. The winner will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on 14 October 2013.
