Vacant property management experts SitexOrbis has won nine new contracts worth around £1.8m to perform specialist cleaning and to secure and clean vacant property. As well as adding three new clients to the books, the company has retained two important contracts and is to provide four existing clients with new services.

SitexOrbis is to provide pharmacy cleanroom cleaning services to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in a contract worth around £0.4m over three years. This involves doing quarterly deep cleaning at four aseptic cleanrooms and daily cleaning at two of these cleanrooms. One cleanroom is in the cancer unit in the Bexley Wing at St James’s University Hospital, one of the world’s most advanced cancer hospitals. Cleanrooms must comply with standards of cleanliness set out by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Some produce prescription chemotherapy and even contain radioactive substances. Cleanliness is audited regularly by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Only four companies in the country provide aseptic cleaning services. SitexOrbis was awarded the contract based on its specialist cleaning expertise and its superior technical ability to provide management reporting information via Aura, the company’s real-time web-based workflow management and reporting system. SitexOrbis has already been approached by other NHS trusts after recommendations from Leeds. The contract was awarded via the NHS CPC Cleanroom Cleaning Framework, an NHS procurement arm established to save trusts money when procuring services. All 58 CPC member Trusts (predominantly based in Yorkshire) could use this Framework to cost effectively procure this highly specialist cleaning service. The Framework is also open for use by NHS Trusts across the UK.

SitexOrbis is also to provide services through two Efficiency East Midlands Frameworks for void cleaning and clearance work and void security work for Ashfield Homes, a social housing organisation managing council homes in Ashfield. Other housing organisations have expressed an interest in using this framework to procure SitexOrbis’ services.

Retained clients include Strathclyde Police, Scotland’s largest police force, and Walsall Housing Group, one of the largest housing providers in the West Midlands. SitexOrbis has retained and extended its contract with Strathclyde Police to provide emergency boarding services throughout the region in a two-year contract worth around£0.5m. For Walsall Housing Group, SitexOrbis is to provide void security, cleaning, clearing and related services in a two-year contract also worth around £0.5m. This contract was awarded via the LHC V5 Void Property Protection and Estate Management Framework which is used bypublic sector organisations to procure relevant services in compliance with EU Public Sector Procurement Regulations.

Mark Cosh, director of SitexOrbis, said: “Winning nine new contracts in this challenging economy is great news and proof of the quality offering that we bring to the market. Clients come to us and stay because we are market leaders in our field. We are an innovative and forward-thinking organisation that delivers what we say we will. We are delighted to be awarded the aseptic cleanrooms cleaning contract. This is an area of the business that we intend to grow and we are already honouring this by investing substantially in staff training and recruiting new staff on the ground. I would like to congratulate everyone involved in these contract wins and everyone at SitexOrbis for their continued hard work and commitment to the company and to excellence.”
