Wilson James presents Nomura with NSI Contract Quality Marque certificate

Wilson James, an NSI Guarding Gold approved company, has been awarded the Contract Quality Marque(CQM) for their service contract with London-based Nomura International Plc, a leading global investment bank.

This award is now the sixth CQM which has been presented to Wilson James contracts across the UK since the scheme was introduced in 2010.

The CQM, which has been developed by the NSI with the support of the BSIA, Skills for Security andindustry stakeholders, is a standard that goes well beyond traditional industry benchmarks. It is designed to assess a supplier’s processes and procedures, as well as the security officer’s working conditions. As the name suggests, the Marque can only be achieved on a contract by contract basis, and only after independent inspection by the NSI. By auditing a company’s performance against a specific site, the CQM recognises enhanced contract criteria including the ‘softer’ issues that contribute to staff motivation and job satisfaction. This includes for example prescribed minimum sick pay, personal development plans and improved working conditions.

Stuart Lowden, Managing Director of Wilson James, and Mark Hounslow, Executive Director Operations Real Estate and Services for Nomura, were presented with the award. Stuart Lowden outlined its significance, commenting “we are delighted to see our contract at Nomura achieve the CQM, a standard that truly recognises what is best practice within our sector’’.
