Lord Taylor of Holbeach today announced that Bill Matthews has been appointed as Acting Chair of the Security Industry Authority.

He succeeds Baroness Ruth Henig whose term of appointment came to an end yesterday (14 January).

The appointment was made following a formal recruitment campaign.

Mr Matthews’ appointment is for one year, and his main responsibility will be leading the SIA through the transition to a business licensing regime.

Home Office Minister Lord Taylor said:

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Matthews as Acting Chair of the SIA.

“I am sure that he will bring his energy and experience to this vital and challenging role as the SIA moves towards a new regime based on regulation of businesses.”
