The Security Alliance announces launch of Sponsors scheme

The Security Alliance today announced the creation of a Sponsors scheme to fund the activities of the Alliance over the next 18 months, and that it had raised the issue of matched government funding, in due course, with the Minister, Lynne Featherstone MP.

This is a critical period for the industry as the SIA prepares to unveil its proposals for a future regulatory framework. The Alliance must be ready and able to analyse these proposals and potentially put forward alternatives to ensure they fulfil the requirements of private security provision and to continue to remove the criminal elements, making sure that public safety is maintained through the suggested changes.

To achieve this, the Alliance will use the monies raised to do the following:

  • Appoint an independent chairman to drive the Alliance forward and to deliver a clear, united message to the  SIA and to Government
  • Fund a project management resource to coordinate the working groups being created to help map out a future regulatory regime
  • Fund communication forums to keep individuals and companies fully informed about future regulation
  • Perhaps fund future lobbying and PR activity (dependant on the output from the working groups)

Interested parties can become Sponsors in a number of ways:

Gold and Silver Sponsors – for individual companies wishing to participate fully in the activities of the working groups.

Corporate sponsors – for customers who may be affected by proposed changes to the regulatory framework

Associate sponsors – for companies or individuals keen to support the activities of the Alliance
