Aperio™ Innovates With Pinpad Technology

ASSA ABLOY Access Control has launched an innovative Aperio™ escutcheon range featuring PIN code technology, to offer multi-level door security.

Aperio™ is designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them online or offline to new or existing access control systems, with minimal modification to doors and premises, offering a cost effective and simple security upgrade.

The new Aperio™ PINpad escutcheon presents an extra level of access control, offering users the opportunity to enter a PIN of four to eight characters, or utilise a high security card reader, or a combination of both.

Says Damian Marsh, EMEA Sales Director for Electronic Access Control and Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY Access Control UK: “Aperio™ is Europe’s fastest growing wireless locking solution and by adding the PINpad escutcheon to our product portfolio, we are offering even greater flexibility, with a device that can be used where there is a requirement to secure doors with multi level authentication.

“This exciting new escutcheon launch, together with new solutions already in the pipeline, shows ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s commitment to product development and meeting the bespoke needs of our customers, whilst continuing to provide an easy to install solution which is robust, affordable and can seamlessly integrate with a new or existing access control systems.”

The Aperio™ PINpad escutcheon is now available for conventional RFID technologies: iCLASS, MIFARE classic/plus and MIFARE DESFire as well as for existing 125 kHz access control systems based on HID PROX or EM410x.
