Infologue.com believes that in 2013 the regulated security sector has remained static in terms of turnover at £3.18 billion for the past year, writes Infologue.com publisher, Bobby Logue. Due to the popularity of the Infologue.com Top 20 companies list as well as numerous requests we have decided to increase the table to 25 companies which will be known as the Infologue.com Top 25.

If we examine the turnover of the Infologue.com Top 20 companies there has been an increase this year of £70 million over the turnover figure of last year (2012). The turnover of the Infologue.com Top 20 in 2013 represents 84.86% of the annual turnover of the regulated security sector. The annual turnover of the new Infologue.com Top 25 is estimated at £2,840,500,000 representing 89.2% of the annual turnover of the regulated security sector.

The march of the bundled services providers (BSP) continues with approximately 63.5% of the regulated security sector with 17 BSP companies featuring in the Infologue.com Top 25. Kingdom joined the ranks of the BSP with the acquisition of a national cleaning company as well as some significant acquisitions in the security sector.

In December 2013 there have been several new contracts awarded which have not been taken into account in the Infologue.com Top 25 2013, which may affect the table, as the turnover cutoff date is the end of November 2013.

The Infologue.com Top 25 mirrors the regulated private security sector which includes companies operating within the following security disciplines; Guarding, Cash and Valuables in Transit, Close Protection, Door Supervision, Public Space Surveillance (CCTV), Security Guarding, and Key Holding.
