ASC Business Club Seminar

Association of Security Consultants’ (ASC) members and guests attended the recent ASC Business Club Seminar held in St. James’s, London.

The meeting considered the theme “Security Demands Innovation” and was sponsored by Nedap, a solution oriented, knowledge based organisation.

Following a welcome and introduction by ASC Chairman Roy Sutherland, Mohammed Jouied of ActivIdentity gave the first presentation about authentication and identity management.  He provided information about how the trend towards connecting physical and logical security is driving technological development, the application for day to day end point security enforcement, together with details about card encryption standards.

Jon Busby from Human Recognition Systems provided valuable information regarding the current status of biometrics in security – IP software that can be integrated across all biometric platforms ensuring unbiased and reliable recommendations.

Nick Holmes and Noel Hutchinson from Lineartron explored the value of integrating on the IP network.  Lineartron provide digital communication solutions for business.

Daryn Flynn from Nedap then gave his much awaited presentation entitled “Unifying Security systems…it’s only software!”.   Daryn talked about integrating on a single platform and how one controller fits all.

Following a lively question and answer session, Roy Sutherland thanked all those who attended and  Nedap for sponsoring the event.

Roy also reminded the audience that the next Business Club Seminar would be held on Wednesday, 13th April 2011.  Amongst other ASC forthcoming events, CONSEC, the ASC’s International Conference and Exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, 3rd November 2011, at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, London.

A tasty buffet luncheon and drinks concluded the seminar, giving ASC members and guests an opportunity to network on an informal basis.

The ASC organises a number of prominent events during the year, which are of importance to both ASC members and others who are interested in security issues and technical innovations.
