| G4S ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF GLOBAL AVIATION SOLUTIONS DIRECTOR |
|
| Leading global
security solutions group G4S today announces the appointment of Andrew Whittaker
as Global Aviation Solutions Director as part of its continuing strategy to
strengthen its key sector capabilities. Andrew previously worked for Unisys,
where he built up its aviation practice and was responsible for negotiating
major outsourcing and systems integration contracts with international airports
and airlines at a time when the company was transitioning to providing IT
solutions and business process outsourcing. Prior to that Andrew worked with
PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Asia Pacific region where he established a new
aviation practice and developed a comprehensive global knowledge management
system.
Andrew’s new
role is one of a number of sector head positions being created by G4S as it
looks to build its total outsourcing capabilities and become a strategic
business partner in sectors where security is key. G4S Group Strategy and
Development Director Graham Levinsohn, said: “This new role will strengthen our
capability in one of the key sectors that is central to our strategy. Andrew
brings with him a wealth of experience within the aviation sector, and his
expertise in establishing new practices and systems integration will be pivotal
in helping us deliver our aviation sector strategy.”
Andrew, who
takes up his role this week, is based in Melbourne, Australia and reports to
Graham Levinsohn, as part of a team of sector specialists. Andrew will focus on
creating and delivering a strategy for developing the aviation sector. Andrew
said: “I am delighted to be joining G4S at a time when the organisation is
embarking on an exciting business strategy that will transform how it does
business. As aviation security standards continue to evolve and improve, G4S is
critically positioning itself to provide integrated value-adding outsourced
solutions to the industry.” G4S currently
provides services at more than 90 airports in 35 countries worldwide including
Heathrow in London and Schiphol in Amsterdam.
