  • SECURITY MANAGER WINS BSIA NATIONAL AWARD FOR“SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER”
  • A Reading security manager has beaten off stiff competition to win a national ‘Service to the Customer’ award in the British Security Industry Association’s Annual Security Officer Awards 2009.Stuart Savill, 30, works for Wilson James Ltd and is based at BG Group in Thames Valley Park. He won the award for his contribution to improving security systems on site during the massive refurbishment of the BG Group premises. Stuart went well beyond his designated role, suggesting changes to the electronic security systems and becoming heavily involved in the project management of the new installation. The results of his work have revolutionised the security function on site. He has also recently been promoted as a result of his continued efforts.

Trish Kirke, Head of Business Services at BG Group, says: "Stuart makes the best of both technology and manpower to provide effective security. His plans have enhanced productivity and increased the motivation of the team. He has produced excellent results and truly deserves this award." Award winner Stuart Savill comments: "I am overjoyed to be chosen as a national winner in my category. A lot of hard work was completed to make our solution to BG Group happen, both by myself and my onsite team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their diligence during a time of rapid change within the contract. The works have left us in a very good position for the future and have made a positive change to the service we now offer to our client." Stuart was presented with his award by Admiral the Lord West of Spithead, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State responsible for security at the Home Office, at the Association’s annual luncheon on 15th July at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
