| On Thursday 20
August 2009, a glittering event held in London’s prestigious Altitude 360 in
Millbank Tower was attended by the industry’s key representatives in
anticipation of being the first to hear exclusive pre-launch information from
Over-C and about the future of NFC. Over-C’s Managing Director Michael Elliott
shook up the world of remote worker management by announcing not only the launch
of a new, improved Over-C software package but also that, in Q1 2010, the
entry-level edition will be available free of charge. John Roddy, Group Managing
Director of AFC Group, said: ‘Michael’s speech was inspirational – we finally
have technology which is supporting future sales and operational delivery’.
V3, the new
software package, will be available from 26 October 2009 this year and offers a
number of enhanced features, including: Live mapping – using enhanced
interactive mapping to make it easier than ever to manage and customise
locations and NFC tags. Lone worker monitoring – this built-in facility can
either be automatic or ‘opt-in’ for staff, which allows managers to keep an eye
on their workers anytime, anywhere. Exception reporting - instant email and SMS
alerts on uncompleted tasks within time-specific schedules (ie your required
shift patterns etc), with built-in escalation through levels of management when
tasks are not meeting targets. Up-to-the-minute personal schedules and rosters,
displayed securely on the mobile phone along with instructions and tasks, and
updated instantly. Available to all leading roster and scheduling systems,
including Coldharbour, Innovise and in-house solutions.
In addition,
there are significant improvements to existing features: Real-time notification
of key activities including checklists, photo and audio recordings, with
customisable messages to suit customer needs. Faster and easier than ever to
manage customer accounts and locations. More control over NFC tags and handset
management. Dashboards and analytics specifically designed to facilitate quick
and informed decision making. Real-time view of operational performance and
trends. The advent of free software at the beginning of next year is set
to revolutionise remote worker management globally.
Michael Elliott,
Managing Director of Over-C, comments: ‘We’re offering the entry level edition
free of charge because we’re committed to making a positive contribution to
organisations that rely on remote workers, whether they’re domiciliary carers,
cleaners or security guards. We can help them to work smarter and safer, and we
want Over-C to be the natural choice for this kind of technology.’ Selected
attendees received a free Nokia NFC phone as a demonstration of Over-C’s
commitment to helping them improve their business, and five organisations were
singled out as role models in an awards ceremony which recognised excellence in
the use and promotion of both Over-C and NFC.
