Leading global
security solutions group G4S today announces the appointment of Jorge Machnizh
as Director - Global Oil and Gas Solutions as it continues to build its
capabilities in key industry sectors. Jorge has a 29-year pedigree in the
global oil and gas services and technology sector and is a prestigious and
recognised leader in the industry. He most recently served as President and COO
for Paradigm Geotechnology, the world’s leader in enterprise software and
consulting services provider of subsurface science and technologies which help
oil and gas companies to manage their reserves with integrated geosciences and
engineering solutions. Prior to that he was President and COO for ION
Geophysical Imaging Systems Group, the largest independent developer of
geophysical acquisition and imaging systems, providing advanced technologies
used in geophysical 2D, 3D and 4D data acquisition, processing and imaging
worldwide.
Jorge was also
previously Vice-President Operations for North and Latin America for Halliburton
Landmark, a leading supplier of services and software for the upstream oil and
gas industry. Prior to that he held a number of roles at Schlumberger
Geco-Prakla, the world's largest integrated geophysical company, where he was
responsible for business start-up and expansion into key Latin American markets.
Jorge played a material role in the execution of Schlumberger’s first Integrated
Project Management project in the mid 1990s. Jorge started his career in the
Alaskan Arctic and lived and travelled extensively worldwide. Through his career
Jorge has led the introduction of major industry-leading innovative services and
technologies, establishing long term successful relationships with customers,
including Trusted Advisor Partnership level relationships with super-major,
national oil companies and independent oil and gas companies worldwide, which
yielded significant value creation for customers and shareholders.
Jorge’s role is
one of a number of sector head positions being created by G4S as it looks to
build its total outsourcing capabilities and drive strategic business partner
relationships in sectors where security is key to success. Jorge joins recently
appointed Global Aviation and, soon to be announced, Ports Solutions sector
heads who are spearheading G4S’s business expansion further into these areas.
Jorge will be based in Houston, Texas, and will report to G4S Group Strategy and
Development Director Graham Levinsohn, who said: “Jorge was born into the oil
business and is a world recognised leader. He has an inherent understanding of
the industry and how it works, and the key players within it. His scientific and
technological expertise, coupled with his impressive track record in business
and ability to deliver growth and profits, will be key to helping G4S unlock the
long-term potential that exists in this sector.”
Jorge will focus
on creating a strategy for developing the oil and gas sector, working in
collaboration with relevant G4S regions and businesses globally to build on
existing expertise, and develop senior level relationships with key oil and gas
companies globally. Jorge said: “Energy resource and security go hand in hand as
it’s critical for the world to have access to oil and gas resources in order to
meet future worldwide demand. Therefore it’s critical that energy companies can
rely on a value-adding partner who has the expertise and scale to enable access
and protect those assets through its life cycle, from exploration and production
to facilities and transportation and final divestiture. G4S is well positioned
to capture this opportunity in the sector and I am very excited to be a part of
its drive into the oil and gas industry.”
