Having been CEO of Europa and laterally Bilfinger Europa since 2008, Greig Brown has decided to step down as CEO of the business from the 1st July. He will continue as a Non-Executive Director, working closely with the board on strategic development.
Greig will also now focus on personal investment interests, working closely with and investing in smaller businesses. There are no immediate plans to appoint a new CEO. From the 1st July and for the medium term the UK board will operate the business with Dr Eckhart Morré (Bilfinger HSG CEO) providing executive support to the UK business.
Greig Brown, Bilfinger Europa CEO, said:
“I have had the privilege of leading this great business and seeing it evolve and flourish over the years. It is approaching eighteen months since the acquisition by Bilfinger and after a successful integration, we now have an even stronger platform to support future growth and success. Whilst I look forward to other personal challenges, I am delighted to be continuing on the board.”
Eckhart Morré, Bilfinger HSG International CEO, said:
“Since the acquisition in December 2013 we are extremely confident about the future potential of Bilfinger Europa in the UK. Whilst disappointed that Greig is stepping down, I am delighted that he has agreed to continue as part of the board. Our business is in excellent shape in the UK and prepared for the next phase of growth and success in what is a very important market for the Bilfinger Group.”
