Iain Duncan Smith, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Chingford and Woodford Green and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions recently presented Interconnective Limited shares to two of their employees, Chris Lanchbury and Joanna Karwacka. Interconnective Ltd, a SME based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, issued 10% of its shares to the two employees who work in the Interconnective Security Products division. Chris is the Technical Services Manager and Joanna the General Manager.
In 2011 the directors of Interconnective took the decision to create opportunities for employees entering permanent employment straight from education. The initiative included engaging employees resident in High Wycombe for at least three years. Chris and Joanna joined the company in 2010 and 2011 respectively. During this period, the turnover of their division, Interconnective Security Products, rose by 85% and 32% over the past two years. Both have undertaken further education since joining Interconnective: Chris has successfully completed technical courses and Joanna recently completed her Masters degree in International Business.
Bobby Logue, the Interconnective Limited Managing Director commented; “I am especially proud of Joanna and Chris who joined the business direct from education. It has been a joy to watch the two grow into competent colleagues. I am always receiving compliments from my customers on their professional approach. A lot has been said about the quality of school leavers in this country, my view is that it’s about how we as employers enthuse, train and invest in our employees.”
