Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has awarded a five year contract to international total facilities management provider OCS to deliver the security and parking management services for its two large acute hospital sites.

The contract, which began earlier this month, includes security control, guarding, traffic and car park management. The security and parking services were previously operated by two separate companies and OCS will now operate under a single management structure, whilst still retaining the specialist areas associated with each service stream.

Jane Sheard, CEO UK Facilities Services, at OCS, said: ‘We are pleased to be supporting the Trust and their vision for ‘Great Staff, Great Care, Great Future’ by focusing on the seamless delivery of services and best practice to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.’

The Trust operates from two main sites, Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, employing over 8,000 staff who care for around 1 million patients every year. It acts as a recognised major trauma centre for the region.
