Europa has once again demonstrated its commitment to ensuring a safe working environment with the number of accidents reducing significantly for the fifth successive year as well as receiving a major award for excellence in Health and Safety.
2012 saw Europa increase its headcount by over 20% with an expanding portfolio of Total Facilities Management accounts, whilst enjoying significant reductions across all recorded accident rates.
When compared to 2011, the number of recorded incidents fell by 30%, the accident frequency rate saw a 27% reduction, reportable accidents reduced by 23% and the number of minor accidents recorded fell by 10%.
The group also received a Commendation for Excellence in Health & Safety at Work in the Facilities Management Sector from RoSPA.
Since 2008 Europa has recorded a reduction in the number of reported accidents every year with the accident incident rate falling by an impressive 69% and accident frequency rate by 63%, despite staff numbers almost trebling in the same period.
Kim Durling, Europa Group Safety, Quality and Environment Director, said: “The reduction in the number of recorded accidents across Europa has once again been excellent and has continued the progress made throughout previous years, all whilst staff numbers continue to grow significantly.
“To ensure that safety remains as an absolute priority across the company we will continue to implement new, innovative measures as we look to improve accident reduction even further throughout 2013 and beyond.”
