Securitas wins TQ Employer of the Year Award

SecuritasSecuritas is proud to announce it has been honoured with the Employer of the Year Award from one of the UK’s leading education and training providers.

TQ Training, a national training organisation based in Northampton, chose Securitas from over 700 employers for whom it delivers qualifications through tailored apprenticeship programmes.

Dr Mike Motley, TQ’s Managing Director, said: “We asked our staff to put forward those companies who they thought really deserved recognition for their support of our apprenticeship programme. Securitas came out on top, not only for their continued support, but for the close working relationship it has forged with our senior executive.”

Securitas began its apprenticeship programme in 2012 with the appointment of a trainee security officer at the Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon. The company has since put more than 1,400 staff through apprenticeships or other programmes with TQ.

Securitas’ Country President, Brian Riis Nielsen, said: “I’m absolutely delighted the company has been recognised in this way. We strongly feel that it is our people that make a difference and top-class training and support is vital to ensure we give the best service to our customers.

“Apprenticeships are a great way for companies to recruit individuals who may otherwise be struggling to find employment due to limited workplace experience. Plus, they provide a great platform towards a future career as a result of the valuable training benefits on offer.”

TQ training, established in 1996, has worked with hundreds of employers and helped tens of thousands of people back into employment or helped those in employment further their career. The company has recently been shortlisted for ‘Training Provider of the Year’ at the Times Educational Supplement Further Education Awards – the major national awards for the post-16 education and training industry. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 27th February 2015.
