On Sunday 12 July 2015, the British 10k London Run will be staged on the world’s greatest road race route through the heart of central London. The 15th anniversary run will showcase a new route, taking in even more of London’s iconic and truly world-class landmarks and streets.
Securitas is delighted to be involved in this fantastic event in more ways than one. Not only will the security firm be providing over 200 stewards to ensure the event is a safe and enjoyable one for competitors and spectators alike, but a team of employees will also be taking part.
This year the Securitas running team have chosen to raise funding for the national charity, Embrace. The charity works tirelessly throughout the UK to support children affected by serious crime through its range of practical, emotional and specialist services. Their work involves children and young people who have suffered directly from abuse and child cruelty.
Anne Campbell, Chief Executive from Embrace said: “We’re delighted the Securitas team will be donning our colours and running to help young victims of crime. We see all too often the devastating effects of crime on our younger members of society and are determined to do everything we possibly can to help them on the road to recovery – whatever that may take.”
Securitas’ mission is to ‘protect homes, workplaces and the community’ and it is through this passion and dedication that Securitas has committed to paying the application fee for any Securitas employee wishing to join the running team.
Securitas Country President, Brian Riis Nielsen explains: “I’m really proud to take part and to support Embrace, one of Securitas’ chosen national charities. It is through coming together that we will really begin to make an impact on the children of Embrace and the wider communities.”
