Wilson James were announced as the winners of the Contribution to Standards in the Security Sector Award at the annual Security Excellence Awards Ceremony.

The award which recognises efforts by an organisation to help improve the standards of security services was given to Wilson James after their success in being the first security company in the UK to achieve the ISO 28000 accreditation.

ISO 28000 is a standard for Security Management Systems for the Supply Chain and provides a new benchmark for security companies to demonstrate the ability to manage security supply chain risks effectively. Wilson James recognised an opportunity to review and re-engineer their management system procedures to ensure they met the standard requirements and in doing so created a fully integrated management system that not only incorporated, but enhanced their existing suite of security sector standards.

Gemma Quirke, Managing Director for Security Services commented ‘We are delighted and extremely proud of our Contribution to Security Standards Award and pleased to get recognition for the hard work and efforts that were put in to achieve the ISO 28000 standard.’

Rachel Parker, Director Security South added ‘The incorporation of ISO 28000 into our Security Management System procedures allows Wilson James to implement a best practice system that will be continuously reviewed and improved, resulting in a higher level of security assurance for all our customers. Our system not only protects people but also goods, infrastructure, equipment and transportation against security incidents.’
