The Home Office is seeking views on the Government’s preferred option for reforming the regulation of the private security industry: a phased transition to a business regulation regime.
Its consultation document, published on 20 November, sets out proposals for a regulatory regime in which:
- individuals will continue to be licensed but the primary focus of the regulator will shift to a system of business regulation;
- there will be a significant change to how individuals are licensed to work within the industry.
