The Skills for Security Careers Fair will return in 2026, bringing together employers, industry organisations and individuals interested in careers across the fire and security sector.
The event is scheduled for Thursday 26 March 2026 and will run from 9.30am to 1.30pm at Birmingham City Football Club. Following the launch of the event in 2025, the fair is intended to provide a practical forum for people exploring employment, training and apprenticeship routes within the sector.
The fire and security industry continues to report challenges around skills availability, with ongoing demand for engineers, installers and technicians. The Careers Fair is designed to support engagement between employers and potential entrants, offering an opportunity to discuss career pathways and workforce requirements directly.
David Scott, Managing Director of Skills for Security, said:
“The feedback from last year’s inaugural Careers Fair showed just how valuable it is for the industry to come together in person to discuss skills, training and entry routes. There is a real need to attract new talent into fire and security and to help individuals see and understand the rewarding long-term career paths our sector offers.”
The event is aimed at school and college students, jobseekers and individuals considering a move into the fire and security industry, particularly within the West Midlands. Employers will be able to engage with attendees interested in apprenticeships and entry-level roles, while visitors will have access to information on qualifications, training options and career progression.
Industry partners are expected to share insight into technology developments and upcoming sector activity. The Skills for Security team will also provide guidance on funding opportunities, recruitment support and CV preparation.
David Scott added:

Employers based in the West Midlands can register their interest in exhibiting at the event. Individuals, schools and colleges wishing to attend are also able to sign up in advance.
