Full Programme Announced for 2026 OSPAs/NSI Thought Leadership Summit

Ospas_logoThe Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs), in association with the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), has announced the full programme for its seventh Thought Leadership Summit, which will take place on 19 February 2026.

The annual Summit has become a fixture in the security sector calendar and is intended to provide a forum for discussion on current and emerging issues affecting the industry. The 2026 programme brings together speakers from across regulation, policing, research and private security to address a range of operational, policy and reputational topics.

This session will examine how the relationship between policing and the private security sector is developing, including perceived barriers and opportunities for closer working in support of public safety.

What difference can the SIA initiatives really make?
Michelle Russell, Chief Executive – Security Industry Authority (SIA)
The discussion will consider initiatives such as Martyn’s Law and business registration and licensing, focusing on timescales, anticipated impact on practical security, and steps organisations can take in advance of implementation.

Does sentencing work?

This session will explore the principles underpinning sentencing, addressing the long-held perception among some practitioners that sentencing is ‘soft’, and examining its effectiveness and potential areas for improvement.

How can the security sector improve its image?
