Aegis Support Services Awarded Three-Year Luton Sixth Form College Contract

Aegis Support Services has secured a three-year contract to provide security services at Luton Sixth Form College following a competitive tender and procurement process.

The contract is the first time the College’s security services have been put out to tender in seven years.

Luton Sixth Form College, established in 1966, has more than 3,200 students aged between 16 and 18. The College offers A Level and vocational courses and provides education and training for students preparing for university, apprenticeships and employment.

The new contract follows a review of the College’s security requirements, with its revised approach placing greater emphasis on student welfare, wellbeing and support alongside site security.

Aegis Support Services will provide security personnel across the College campus and its wider site in Luton. The contract will also include inclusion officers based within the College, with responsibilities including encouraging positive behaviour and providing wellbeing and safety support.

The services will be delivered directly by Aegis Support Services and will form part of the College’s ‘Protect, Prevent and Pursue’ approach to campus safety.

Qadeer Qureshi, CEO of Aegis Support Services, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and to continue our relationship with Luton Sixth Form College. Over the years, we have invested heavily in creating a specialist security services offering for the education sector, including developing and training our teams to provide specialist behavioural management and inclusion officers across a range of education environments. Being awarded this contract reflects our experience within the education sector and our commitment and ability to deliver professional security services to support positive student engagement and pastoral support.”

Altaf Hussain, principal @ CEO at Luton Sixth Form College, added: “Creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for our students and staff is an absolute priority for the College. Our approach to security goes beyond simply protecting our site; it is about ensuring our students feel safe, supported and able to thrive throughout their time with us. As part of this new contract, we have taken the opportunity to strengthen our approach through our Protect, Prevent and Pursue model, bringing together visible campus security with proactive engagement, early intervention and student support. Aegis Support Services demonstrated a strong understanding of our College community and our ambitions for this service. We look forward to building on our partnership over the next three years and continuing to develop an approach that places student safety, wellbeing and inclusion at its heart.”
