IFPO UK Introduces Free Protect Card Benefit for Eligible Members

The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO UK) has introduced free Protect Card membership for eligible members as part of its latest membership benefits.

The Protect Card is a discount and rewards programme for UK security professionals, providing access to savings across retail, leisure, travel and other everyday services.

Protect Card available to IFPO UK members

Under the new arrangement, eligible IFPO UK members working in the private security sector can access Protect Card membership without paying the usual annual fee.

The scheme is available to a broad range of security professionals, including security officers and guards, door supervisors, CCTV operators, mobile patrol officers, event security staff, airport security personnel, dog handlers and revenue protection staff.

It also covers roles such as cyber security professionals, trainers, operations managers and other security-related support positions. An SIA licence is not required to qualify.

The Protect Card is delivered digitally through its website and app, allowing members to use e-gift cards and discount codes for online and in-store purchases.

Discounts across retail and leisure

The programme includes discounts covering supermarkets, high street retailers, technology, home and DIY, dining, holidays, gyms, travel and days out.

Members can also access reduced-price cinema tickets at chains including Cineworld, Odeon, Vue, Picturehouse and Showcase.

Additional offers are available for security-related services, including SIA training and security products from participating providers.

Additional services

Protect Card membership also includes several additional services covering motoring, property and household costs.

These include Total Motor Assist, which provides accident recovery support free for 12 months, and DriverSave, which offers discounts aimed at reducing motoring expenses.

Members can also access Total Property Assist for professional repair services following damage to a home, while Fuel Direct provides discounts through fuel cards, with savings of up to 6p per litre.

Access through IFPO UK

Eligible members can activate their Protect Card through the Members’ Area of the IFPO UK website. The organisation said the benefit forms part of its wider support for security professionals alongside its education, certification and existing discounts on IFPO certificate and certification programmes.

Commenting on the launch, an IFPO UK spokesperson said:

“Security professionals work tirelessly to protect people and organisations every day. Providing free access to the Protect Card is one way we can show our appreciation and help members enjoy practical savings – whether that’s on the weekly shop, a family day out, or their own professional development,”

IFPO UK said the benefit is intended to provide members with access to discounts and services that can be used both inside and outside their professional roles.
