Security services provider Land Sheriffs has achieved ISO 45001 certification, adding the occupational health and safety standard to its existing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations.
ISO 45001 is an internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management systems, designed to help organisations identify workplace risks, improve safety practices and support employee wellbeing.
The certification follows the company’s previous achievements in quality and environmental management. According to Land Sheriffs, the nature of its frontline security operations made the implementation of a formal health and safety management system a priority.
“Given the environments our officers operate in, having the very best health and safety management system in place is paramount to the safety of our team. Achieving ISO 45001 shows just how committed we are to their wellbeing – and we’re incredibly proud to add this to our growing list of industry accreditations” says James Coyle, Managing Director of Land Sheriffs.
Land Sheriffs first achieved ISO 9001 certification in 2015. The standard focuses on quality management systems and requires organisations to demonstrate consistent delivery of services while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
In 2025, the company obtained ISO 14001 certification, which relates to environmental management systems and the management of environmental impacts. The business subsequently introduced electric, hybrid and self-charging vehicles as part of its environmental programme, including an electric 4×4 vehicle, and has set a target of reducing emissions by 50% by 2030.
The latest certification recognises the company’s health and safety management framework, including training, operational systems and workplace practices.
As a result, Land Sheriffs now holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
“Achieving all three of these ISO accreditations as part of our Integrated Management System is something we are extremely proud of. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to quality, environmental responsibility and health & safety, while reinforcing the high standards we uphold across every area of our operations” adds James.
Land Sheriffs provides a range of security services across the UK, including mobile patrols, manned guarding, welfare patrol teams and CCTV deployment and monitoring. The company has operated for more than 20 years and works with clients across multiple sectors, including the rail industry.
The business said it will continue to develop its management systems and processes and is working towards ISO 27001 certification for information security management.
“Becoming a triple-certified organisation is a significant milestone for the business – but we’re not stopping there! We’re already working towards our ISO 27001 accreditation to further strengthen our information security, continuing to raise standards not only across the business, but across the entire security industry” concludes James.
