Securitas’ Geoff Zeidler appointed as BSIA Vice Chairman

Geoff Zeidler, the busy Securitas UK Managing Director has been approved by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) as their Vice Chairman, writes Infologue.com’s Bobby Logue. Zeidler’s influence in the industry rose significantly as a result of the rapid fire acquisitions of the business of Reliance in September 2010 and Chubb Security Personnel in the first quarter of 2011. Securitas who have an estimated annual turnover in the UK of £385 million are now the UK’s second largest security company in the UK licensable security sector. Securitas UK, part of the £6 billion global security giant Securitas AB, were also winners of the Security Excellence Awards Best Guarding Company 2010.

Zeidler studied Manufacturing Engineering at Cambridge University before developing a successful career in strategic consulting, corporate finance, business development and operations. In 2006 he joined the government owned agency, Forensic Science Service as Commercial Director, where he was responsible for developing the commercialisation of the forensic services market. In September 2008 he was appointed the Managing Director of Securitas Security Services Ltd with responsibility for UK & Ireland. He is a member of the Security Industry Authority‘s strategic advisory committee; and the RISC council.

BSIA appoints new section chairman

Geoff ZeidlerThe British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has appointed chairmen for most of its sections of membership, following its Annual General Meeting, which was held earlier today. BSIA Chief Executive, James Kelly, comments: “The success of the BSIA is not only achieved by the work of its staff but also the ongoing dedication from members who are willing to serve on the various committees. Every section is represented on the Association’s Council, meaning that every area of membership is fully engaged and involved in shaping the strategic direction of the Association.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the previous section chairmen for their efforts and contributions and I extend a warm welcome to the new faces who are taking up the post of chairmen.”
