Land Sheriffs Officer Recognised in ACS Pacesetters Awards

Specialist security provider Land Sheriffs has confirmed that one of its Trespass & Welfare Officers has been shortlisted for the ACS Pacesetters ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards 2026.

The Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is an accreditation programme designed to measure operational standards and performance across the private security sector in the UK.

The ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ category recognises individuals working within the Approved Contractor Scheme who have demonstrated exceptional service in the course of their duties.

Land Sheriffs officer Adnan Yaseen was shortlisted following his response to two separate incidents involving vulnerable individuals within a 24-hour period.

The company, which has been part of ACS Pacesetters for almost two decades, has previously seen officers nominated, shortlisted and recognised through the awards programme.

“The ACS Pacesetters Awards represent some of the highest standards within the security industry, so to be shortlisted again is a significant achievement! This just shows how Adnan’s exceptional contributions and commitment make a real difference to public safey” says James Coyle, Managing Director of Land Sheriffs.

Land Sheriffs’ Trespass & Welfare Team works on incidents involving vulnerable people trespassing on the railway network with the intention of self-harm.

According to the company, Adnan was nominated for his response to two potential suicide attempts that took place on the same day.

During both incidents, he provided support and reassurance to the individuals involved while assisting them to safety. One individual was escorted home, while the other was taken into professional care.

“Our officers consistently go above and beyond to keep the public safe, even in very challenging and often unpredictable environments. Adnan is the perfect example of this. His quick response saved the lives of two vulnerable individuals and prevented significant emotional impact on their families and we’re incredibly proud his actions have been recognised” adds James.

Land Sheriffs has provided services including mobile patrols, manned guarding, welfare patrols and CCTV monitoring across the UK for more than 20 years.

The company has held ACS Pacesetter status since 2008, placing it among the top-performing security companies assessed under the scheme.

The ACS Pacesetters Awards 2026 will take place on Wednesday 20 May at Royal Windsor Racecourse.

“Events like this highlight the dedication and professionalism across the security industry. It’s an opportunity to recognise the people behind the work and we’re proud to see our team represented. Congratulations to all the nominees for their well-deserved recognitions and a special good luck to Adnan!” concludes James.
