The Security Industry Authority has released the following update on their new licensing system.
“This week we passed 30,000 licensing decisions since the introduction of the new system. We are making decisions at the fastest rate since the system was switched on.
“The number of applications in ‘Next Steps’ has reduced following targeted work to tackle these cases. There are still more cases to be dealt with, so we are repeating the advice from last week:
“If you have an application in ‘Next Steps’ please make sure that you have completed all the actions contained in the message called “Instructions to complete your SIA Application”. There is a large number of people who have only done some of the actions in this message and these applications will not progress unless all of the actions are completed. The actions might include visiting the post office or sending documents to us.
“We are still being contacted by people who have questions that could be answered by looking at our Internet website. There is a lot of advice available about how to apply for a licence and we have made it easier for you navigate directly to the information that you need. The opening page of our SIA website now contains a welcome screen with links to the most commonly viewed pages and those that contain the answers to the most frequently asked questions. You can also access the SIA home page if you are interested in other information about the SIA.”
