Security and logistics specialist Wilson James celebrates its 25th anniversary this month.
Established in Westcliff-on-Sea in 1991, Wilson James’ first project was the London Underground Jubilee line extension. Launching its logistics sector in 1994, the company provided on-site logistics and security support for Heathrow, BA Waterside and the transformation of the Tate Modern from a decommissioned power station into an art gallery. In 1997 the Wilson James security sector was created, providing award-winning security services to blue-chip clients across the UK.
In 2013 the business launched an events sector to provide security and related support services to large-scale public events such as concerts, festivals and sporting events.
With security, logistics and business services connected as WJ’s core offering, it now works with more than 300 clients and employs more than 3,000 people across the UK and in 5 European countries (and counting).
Wilson James has won more than 50 leading industry awards, most recently ‘Best Man Guarding Company 2015’ and ‘Inspiration in HR’ at the Security Excellence Awards, ‘Best Business Partner’ at the AOA Awards and ‘Health and Safety Training 2016’ at Heathrow’s Safety Awards.
