Corps Security receives wellbeing award at British Security Awards

Corps Security has received the Charity and/or Wellbeing Initiative Award at the British Security Awards, which took place on 16 June at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

The award recognised the company’s work in supporting military veterans and employee wellbeing through a range of initiatives, including the activities of the Corps Veterans Association (CVA).

Established to support Corps Security’s long-standing connection with the veteran community, the CVA provides opportunities for former service personnel within the organisation to connect with colleagues, access support services and participate in social and remembrance events. The association has more than 290 members and operates an automatic enrolment scheme for veteran employees.

A key element of the CVA’s work is its partnership with Combat Stress, a charity supporting veterans’ mental health. Corps Security has contributed nearly £90,000 to the organisation and has also introduced a voluntary 1% contract donation scheme, which generates more than £45,000 annually.

The award also recognised wellbeing initiatives available to employees across the business. These include a healthcare package providing access to Aviva+ services, online GP consultations and mental health support. The company’s Corps Connect portal, which provides access to wellbeing information and resources, has more than 4,000 registered users.

Organised by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), the British Security Awards recognise individuals, organisations and initiatives operating across the UK security sector.

Sharon Smith, Health & Safety Manager and Cadet Lead for the CVA, said: “It is an incredible honour to be recognised for the positive impact our initiatives have on the lives of our veteran colleagues and the wider veteran community. On behalf of the Corps Veterans Association and everyone at Corps Security, I would like to thank our teams, clients and anyone who has shown us support.”
