Two Advance Security customer facing staff have won national accolades at the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Security Personnel Awards 2011, which was announced at the trade body’s Annual Lunch on the 13th July.
Lynn Cook, BAE Systems’ receptionist has been declared winner of the ‘Service to the Customer’ category; while Andrew Poulton, who covers nine key holding contracts across Leicestershire, has won ‘Best Newcomer’. The awards followed an extensive selection process, in which both Lynn and Andrew had to prove themselves in the regional heats before reaching the national finals.
Said Advance Security’s Managing Director, Richard Bailey: “Both Lynn and Andrew have shown expertise in their field, going far beyond what their remits require. The double win demonstrates Advance’s commitment to customer service and to ensuring that the highest standards are met across all our corporate contracts.”
Lynn has worked at BAE Systems’ site in Samlesbury for two years and was nominated for her continued efforts in ensuring visitors to the site receive as warm a welcome as possible. In addition to carrying out her traditional receptionist duties, Lynn voluntarily dedicates much of her spare time to looking at new ways to improve the front desk service – especially for international guests, predominantly from the Middle East.
Meanwhile, new to the operational side of the security industry, Andrew has made a valuable contribution to Advance Security’s mobile key holding services – implementing a number of measures that have resulted in marked improvements at a regional level.
The judges cited Andrew’s willingness to learn from other departments as evidence of his continuous drive to deliver the highest standards of service. He was also praised for developing strong working partnerships; proactively putting forward suggestions; and sharing his IT knowledge.
