Amulet wins Security Project of the Year Award

Amulet has been awarded with the Security Project of the Year award at the 2024 Security and Fire Excellence Awards. This marks the company’s second consecutive win, building on its previous recognition for a project with ZSL London Zoo.

The 2024 award highlights Amulet’s collaboration with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) on the Bee Network initiative, aimed at improving safety across public transport systems. Through this partnership, buses in Greater Manchester were brought back under local control, facilitating a targeted approach to security.

As part of the project, Amulet recruited and deployed TravelSafe Support and Enforcement Officers (TSEOs) to patrol bus routes in the region. These officers focus on reducing anti-social behavior, preventing fare evasion, and addressing safeguarding concerns. Their comprehensive training includes conflict resolution techniques and strategies for supporting vulnerable individuals, equipping them to handle the unique challenges of public transport security effectively. Within the first 100 days of deployment, TSEOs responded to nearly 1,000 incidents, significantly contributing to passenger safety and public confidence.

The Bee Network initiative aligns with Greater Manchester’s broader goals of improving transport safety and accessibility while combating crime. Following its initial success, the project has expanded, doubling the number of TSEOs to enhance coverage and impact.

Kieran Mackie, managing director at Amulet, said: “Winning this award is a proud moment for Amulet and highlights the importance of innovative and empathetic approaches to public safety. Our partnership with TfGM has shown how collaborative efforts and well-trained officers can make a real difference in communities. We remain committed to providing transformative security solutions that help our customers thrive.”
