Amulet has been awarded the Security and Fire Excellence Award for Security Project of the Year, acknowledging its collaboration with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). The Security and Fire Excellence Awards serve as a platform to recognize outstanding achievements within the security and fire sectors.
The awarded project undertaken by Amulet involved diverse security components tailored to the distinctive environment of ZSL London Zoo, encompassing advanced CCTV enhancements and upgraded camera technology.
Strategic placement of new cameras across the premises, including within animal enclosures, significantly bolstered animal security. This implementation also enables zoo staff to remotely monitor the animals, thereby supporting the conservation program.
Recognized for its technical innovation and adaptability to ZSL’s specific requirements, the project successfully addressed challenges, notably integrating with ZSL’s intricate fibre network. Amulet’s software was modified to align with the zoo’s infrastructure, eliminating the need for costly upgrades for ZSL.
Kieran Mackie, managing director of Amulet, said: “Our work with ZSL has been a unique partnership, and to be recognised with the SFE award is credit to everyone involved. Our relationship with the ZSL team has enabled greater progress and innovation across the site, with more scope for further work with other ZSL locations in the future. We look forward to continuing the relationship and supporting the protection and study of London Zoo’s fantastic animals.”
Kelly Wessell, security and resilience manager at London Zoo, said: “The CCTV and technology we have implemented at London Zoo with Amulet’s expert guidance has enabled us to modernise and provide a safe day out for our visitors and staff.
