Cordant Security earns world’s first ISO 45001:2018 & boosts ACS Score

Cordant Security has successfully increased its ACS score from 142 to 161 in its most recent March 2019 audit. The Approved Contract Scheme Pacesetters membership is made up of Contract Security Guarding Companies who are in the top 15% benchmarking and achievement levels set by the Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme.

In the past few years Cordant Security has regularly scored in the 140’s, which is a significant achievement, but due to a continued push to improve and the start of a number of new initiatives Cordant has boosted its score significantly.

There are over 3500 security companies registered with the SIA and only 831 hold the ACS status. This score puts the social enterprise in the top 1% of security companies in the UK.

Furthermore, the most significant achievement from the audit is the award of the world-class standard ISO 45001:2018 (Health and Safety). Making Cordant the first security company to ever receive this standard which shows a continued drive to improve and innovate whilst ensuring the importance of safety is upheld.

During the audit, Cordant’s staff were also under close examination for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental) which was the 3-year recertification, which subject to technical review, has been recommended.

During these audits, 20 locations were visited, 42 licence holders and 15 members of management were spoken to. A real representative sample across the business.

Mark Elton, Group Quality Risk and Compliance Director at Cordant commented: “Congratulations to everyone involved across the business. This is a fantastic achievement that we should all be proud of. However the challenge does not stop, we can always improve and get better. We will always strive to improve and make our work as safe as we possibly can.”
