Corps Security has been recognised by The Security Institute with the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Initiative of the Year award for the second consecutive year. The award was presented during the Institute’s annual general meeting and conference, which took place in London and focused on the theme “The Changing Face of Security.”

The event highlighted the evolving nature of the security sector, emphasising increased diversity and inclusivity within the profession. It featured eight awards recognising significant contributions and achievements across the industry.

Corps Security received the award for its “Corps Together” initiative, which seeks to foster inclusivity in the workplace by creating community support systems. These include the Corps Veterans Association and the Corps guardian support network, which addresses a wide range of factors such as race, disability, religion, age, gender, sexuality, and pregnancy and maternity status.

In addition to its ED&I efforts, Corps was also acknowledged for its work in promoting mental health awareness among its officers. Its mental health events contributed to the development of the “Wellness Baton,” a series of events that bring together security and facilities management professionals to share knowledge and best practices for supporting mental health and wellbeing.

Seetan Varsani, divisional director for London and head of Corps Together at Corps Security, said: “We are delighted to win this award, especially for the second year in a row. Corps’ dedication to ED&I and our guardian structure means that we are constantly challenging each other to be better, both professionally and personally. We are privileged to have such a diverse workforce, and we are committed to opening our minds and ensuring support, respect and appreciation for every single colleague.”
