G4S Cash Solutions UK selects ACM Environmental

Following a very successful six month implementation period, G4S Cash Solutions UK, part of the world’s leading security solutions group G4S plc, has agreed a three year contract with ACM Environmental plc, leading specialists in environmental waste, recycling, and waste to energy technology for the provision of all their waste management services.

Prior to engagement with ACM, G4S’s recycling levels were running at approximately 28%, but since ACM’s involvement, G4S has seen a dramatic rise in recycling rates to 83%, and are on track to reach their challenging target of 95% by April 2012.

G4S engaged with ACM after recognising that their existing suppliers were not delivering the necessary value or compliance requirements and there was a distinct lack of environmental innovation, something that is of significant importance to G4S. ACM’s first step was to complete a comprehensive site survey of all G4S Cash Solutions sites across the UK which identified opportunities to implement improvements in many areas and already the changes made, through utilising ACM’s Greener Path Programme to develop a bespoke waste management plan, have delivered significant benefit.

Andy Jacobs, Chief Executive of ACM Environmental plc said “ACM are delighted to be selected as a key partner in ensuring that G4S Cash Solutions have the most cost effective, yet environmentally friendly, waste management operation possible”.

Valerie Rands, Head of Procurement for G4S Cash Solutions, said “By working with ACM, we have streamlined our supply chain from 34 suppliers to just one, dramatically increased our recycling levels. On top of this ACM are delivering cost savings and improved environmental audit trails without any capital investment from us. I’m really looking forward to working with ACM to build further on our recent successes.”

ACM environmental have been in the waste management industry for over 20 years. They have seen their business develop to meet the ever changing needs of both customers and the environment.
