G4S Gurkha Services, a subsidiary of G4S, the world’s largest secure solutions company, has achieved an Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) score of 113, from the Security Industry Authority auditors. This is considered an outstanding result considering G4S Gurkha Services has been trading for just three years.
The ACS scheme is the recognised performance standard for the security industry and requires an organisation to successfully undergo an independent audit in order to be registered as approved. The audit reviews the processes that manage and control an organisation’s services. It prescribes systematic control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met and is designed to apply specifically to a wide range of services offered by the security industry including security guarding, CCTV operation, door supervisors, close protection, key holding and cash/valuables in transit (CVIT).
John Whitwam, Managing Director, G4S Gurkha Services: “This is an outstanding achievement of which we are very proud. It recognises the commitment from our managers and officers to provide our clients an enhanced service they can truly rely on. This award is based on the positive impact we have delivered to our clients’ security; this is the most accurate reflection of a security providers’ true value”.
“G4S Gurkha Services provides professional, trained security teams of men and women managed by former British Army officers with many years of practical operational experience. It is most rewarding that the SIA has recognised the excellent level of service we provide to customers with higher risk security requirements.”
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is responsible for regulating the private security industry and has two main duties, the first of which ensures compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking certain designated activities and the second which manages the voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
