G4S risk management appoints new financial director

G4S Risk Management, a leading provider of risk mitigation and secure support services, has appointed Julian Hartley as its new Financial Director. Julian starts on 19 July. Julian joins G4S from BT where, since March 2008, he has been seconded to the Department of Energy and Climate Change as Project Director for the procurement stage of the UK’s Carbon Capture and Storage Project.  Julian was responsible for formulating the commercial strategy for the procurement through to the negotiation of the risk reduction contracts signed in March 2010.

Originally joining BT in 2006, Julian undertook the role of Senior Finance Officer on part of BT’s suite of health contracts.  His primary objective was the financial stability and profitability of the N3 network, Europe’s largest Virtual Private Network.  Julian’s previous experience includes a series of Director level finance and commercial roles at BAE Systems and GEC Marconi in the IT, defence and communications domains, covering the management of major in-life programmes and procurements, value added resale and consultancy.

Nigel Billingham, Group Managing Director, G4S Risk Management, commented: “We are very pleased to welcome Julian to the team.  He brings a wealth of financial and commercial expertise to the role which will put him in excellent stead to help drive the strong performance of our business.”

Julian Hartley commented:  “I am looking forward to applying my experience in helping G4S Risk Management develop their business over the coming years.”
