Iceland has awarded Advance Security UK Ltd sole supplier status, for their entire manned guarding security portfolio, including store detectives.
One of the fastest growing food retailers in the UK, Iceland has over 700 stores across the country, employing 22,000 people. Iceland, officially recognised as one of the top 10 best companies to work for in the UK, recently won nine awards at the 2011 British Frozen Food Awards.
Duncan Miles, Head of Security, Iceland said ‘Advance offers a total loss prevention service and the management team, supporting our contract on a day to day basis, really understand our business. The commitment and attitude of Advance makes a huge difference to the security within Iceland stores and I am delighted that such levels of service will be replicated nationwide’.
Advance first provided security to Iceland in 2004 with a few stores in the North West region. The number of stores dramatically increased in 2005 when Advance was awarded 50% of the Iceland security contract. In 2008, Iceland awarded the contract to Advance for security at all their distribution centres.
With the new contract in place, Advance now supplies manned guarding security and store detectives to almost 250 Iceland stores and 4 Iceland distribution centres.
Chris Fieldhouse, Managing Director, Advance Security stated ‘Having worked with Iceland for some years we understand their culture and working ethos which closely reflects our own. We care passionately about our people and the service we provide; our on going training, for all security personnel, is undoubtedly the lynch pin to our success. I am delighted to have secured this contract with Iceland and look forward to many more years working closely with them’.
