IFSEC 2012: ‘Meet the Buyers’ enjoys sixth successful year

The first day of IFSEC International saw the return of the successful Meet the Buyers event, organised by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) in partnership with the UK Trade and Investment Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO), IFSEC organiser United Business Media and the International Trade Promotion Centre.

Despite the economic pressures faced by many companies across the globe, this annual event remains popular, with this year’s impressive attendance demonstrating that the event has become a firm favourite in the international security calendar.

With twenty-minute introductory meetings arranged in advance, Meet the Buyers welcomes a range of security procurement specialists from a diverse selection of countries, which this year included Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Nigeria.

Over the years, Meet The Buyers has achieved impressive results, introducing UK businesses to over 1,400 overseas buyers and resulting in almost £10 million worth of predicted sales.

On the day, Trade and Investment officers from foreign Embassies and Consulates were also on hand to impart their expert knowledge and advice for those UK companies looking to break into overseas markets and expand their business.
