
Legion Group, which has provided security services to the Petroplus Coryton Refinery for over 20 years, has had its contract extended for a further three years.
Coryton Refinery is located on a 586 acre site, approximately 40 km East of London on the Thames Estuary. Some 500 Petroplus staff, and around the same number of contractor personnel, are employed on site. The original contract with Legion Group has developed to include frontline first-response and first aid services. Protection duties consist of access control, integrity of the perimeter and site reception. At this primary port facility, which receives ships delivering crude oil from around the world, the Legion Group security team have a responsibility for the restricted area around the jetties in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. Other duties include safe traffic enforcement, escorts for heavy and wide loads, transport service and mail room operations.
