One of Britain’s leading housing and care groups has selected MITIE to provide an out of hours mobile caretaker service to its residents in over 32,000 midlands properties.
Midland Heart chose the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company for a three year response services contract across its midlands property portfolio to patrol housing schemes and monitor visitors as well as checking that security doors, communal lighting and other equipment are in working order.
The team, which comprises three response vehicles with two officers per vehicle, ensures that any criminal activity, graffiti or other anti-social behaviour is reported so Midland Heart is able to work closely with the police to investigate.
MITIE’s Total Security Management (TSM) business secured the contract to service the Midlands’ largest housing and care group following a competitive tender process, and was chosen based on its capability to self-deliver all services and its specialism in response services.
Bob Forsyth, Managing Director, MITIE Total Security Management, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with Midland Heart within the communities it operates. Our highly trained officers have received additional training to prepare them to situations that are beyond their normal remit.”
David Taylor, Head of Lettings and Tenancy Standards for Midland Heart, said:
“Midland Heart is committed making communities safer for our customers. MITIE’s mobile caretaker service has enabled us to extend our activities so that we can provide a timely responsive service out of hours, a time when reassurance for our customers is needed most.”
