Prime Secure Reduces Customers’ CO2 by over 1000 Tonnes in 2022

Prime Secure LogoNationwide security provider, Prime Secure, helped its customers reduce their CO2 by over 1,000 tonnes during 2022 thanks to its Eco CCTV Tower. Designed for sites without power, the company’s eco towers save over 99% of CO2 output compared to running a generator 8 hours a day to charge traditional towers.

Launched in 2021, Prime Secure’s eco towers have proved successful due in part to the UK’s largest house builders agreeing to a sector-wide plan to meet the government’s climate change targets in line with their Net Zero pledge to tackle carbon production. Created in conjunction with the Future Homes Task Force, the plan aims to deliver “production and construction methods that are net zero and sustainable by 2050, with substantial progress by 2025 and 2030”.

Prime Secure’s Managing Director, Kevin McDaid, said, “We are proud to announce the significant impact our eco towers have made to our customers and the environment. We weren’t satisfied with simply bolting on a solar panel to our CCTV towers so we could market a ‘solar’ tower. The existing systems we looked at used small solar panels and only delayed the need for a traditional fuel source. Our goal was to create a 100% eco-powered CCTV tower as real change is required to help tackle the climate emergency. We’re delighted with the results and are in the process of building more, as well as developing other security systems powered by renewable energy sources.”

The Eco CCTV Tower was selected as a finalist in the New Civil Engineer TechFest Awards in the Best Use of Technology: Carbon Reduction category, and by the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) as a finalist in the Outstanding New Security Product or Technology.

McDaid additionally stated, “We see eco power and carbon neutrality as the cornerstone of our product range going forward and believe this approach has resonated with our customers’ demands, helping us rise six places in the Infologue list of top UK security companies for 2022, the joint second biggest rise of any business.”

Recently, Prime Secure have been doing several clean energy projects with a solar-powered version of their V-Pod CCTV system, significant investment in their electric vehicle fleet to allow carbon-neutral installations of their eco-powered security systems, and remote diagnostics to minimise engineer callouts, Prime Secure certainly appears to mean what they say.
